T.: Now, please open your textbooks at page 98. You can see a text here. What is the title of the text?

P.4: Hunting for the job.

T.: Right. Now look at the key words. Read them and try to guess what happened in the story. P.3, tell us please.

P.3.: I think it’s about the man who was looking for a job, and was going through the interview.

T.: Very good. Can you add something? Yes, P.5, please.

P.5: I think, that it’s about the manager or director who was looking for the people.

T.: Nice point, thank you. Now start reading the text (см. Приложение 1) and after reading the text you should answer the questions.

Are you ready? Let’s check the answers then. Was it of great importance to the author to receive the work? Why? P.3, please.

P.3.: It was very important for the author to receive that work, because he was unemployed and need money.

T.: Good, the next. Why Colonel Pope didn’t want to hire the young man?

P.5: Because the company was lying of hands.

T.: Why did the author still hang on though he found that the company was lying off hands?

P.2: He had no choice, he really needed money and job.

T. Describe the young man’s job and how he coped with it?

P.5: He had to teach people to ride a bike and he did it very well.

T. What job was the young man offered in the long run?

P.1: He was placed in charge of the uptown rink.

T.: What helped the man to get his first job?

P.4: He was ready for any job, which, I think, helped him.

4) Обучение аудированию – 9 мин

You are going to listen to six people describing their typical day at work. It would be radio DJ,

sports photographer, judge, shop assistant, teacher, bus driver. But before listening, could you

tell me what do you need for each job?

P1: Radio DJ need to have loud and in the same time pleasant voice.

T: Right, and what does sport photographer need? Please, P2.

P2: He need a good camera.

T: Very good, next please.

P3: Teacher has to love children.

T : Very good.

And now look at the blackboard, there are some words and word combinations which you’ll come across in the text. (на доске написаны слова: record, take pictures, witness, till, credit card, ticket) Let’s give the definition to the each word. (ученики объясняют значение каждого слова)
