Informational educational descriptive monologue:
Written (read aloud) and spoken texts belonging to the same intonational style have different prosodic realization.
In oral speech the means of the prosodic realization are more vivid, expressive and varied, especially in voice timbre, loudness, tempo, length of pauses and rhythm.
Using of some hesitation phenomena intonationaly enables speaker to obtain the balance between formality and informality and establish contacts with the public.
Using various hesitation phenomena unintentionally by speaker enables him to gain the time in search for suitable expression or idea and thus not interrupt the flow of speech.
The speech is characterized by a greater number of intonation groups, supraphrasal units and phonopassages. In spontaneous speech an intonation group doesn't always coincide with a syntagm. Pauses at the end of the phrase are optional.
The reading is characterized by a decentralized stress distribution whereas speaking - by a centralized one.
Spontaneous speech is more contrastive, communicative centers are more vividly underlined; the emphasis is achieved by a wider range of tensional tones, greater degree of loudness and prominence of accented segments.
The reading is rhythmical, oral speech rhythm is non-systematic, unpredictable, variable.

Paralinguistic peculiarities of Conversational Style.
C. S. Is natural spontaneous, everyday speech, which also called familiar. It is the most commonly use type of intonational style. It occurs in informal external and internal relationships in the speech of relatives, friends. It is the most situationally influenced kind of English. Non-verbal elements are extremely important in this style.
There are following features of conversational style:
a). This style is characterised by the inexplicitness of the language as the speakers rely on the exralinguistic factors – context, kinesics. Sometimes the speakers even abrupt the speech suddenly and tail off into silence but the listeners understand them, catch the meaning,
b). Conversations are characterised by the lack of planning and the randomness (случайный) of subject matter.
c) Conversational style talks are characterised by “non – fluency”. Informal spontaneous conversation is characterised by a high proportion of “errors” involving hesitation phenomena, slips of the tongue.
On the prosodic level:
Conversation fall into coordinated blocks, consisting of suprasygmental and supraphrasal units tied up by variations within the length of pauses, speed, rhythm, pitch ranges, pitch levels and loudness.
Intonation groups are rather short; their potentially lengthy tone units tend to be broken.
The heads are usually level, or rarely, falling. Falling heads occurs only in groups consisting of several stressed syllables.
Falling and rising tones are common. Emphatic tones occur in highly emotional context.
The tempo of colloquial speech is very varied. The natural speed might be very fast but the impression of “slowness” may arise because of a great number of hesitation pauses.
Pauses may occur randomly, not just at places of grammatical junctions.
