The Browser

The Browser lets you find and import various types of content into your projects, including audio and MIDI files, track and project templates, track icons, FX Chain presets, effect plug-ins and instruments. You can drag content and plug-ins directly into tracks.

To switch to the Browser, choose Views > Browser view or press B.

The Inspector

When working on a project, you will frequently need to access track and clip parameters and mix controls. The Track Inspector and Properties Inspector provide easy access to relevant settings for the selected track(s) or clip(s).

To switch to the Inspector, choose Views > Inspector view or press I.

Troubleshooting

If you’re having a problem with SONAR, don’t panic.

• Check the ReadMe file that came with your software. It contains additional information that wasn’t available when this User Guide was printed. To view the Readme file, select Help > View README.RTF.

• Visit our support Web site at www.cakewalk.com/Support, where you will find answers to frequently asked questions, tech support documents, program patches and updates, and more.

Where to go for more help

In addition to the SONAR User Guide, SONAR includes help documentation that can provide you with quick reference information whenever you need it. Simply press F1 or click the Help button in any dialog box to find the information you need. If you are new to recording and editing music on your PC, see the online Help topic “Beginner's Guide to Cakewalk Software” for an introduction.

Первый запуск Sonar

Для запуска Sonar воспользуйтесь одним из двух способов:

• Дважды щёлкните по ярлыку Sonar X2 на рабочем столе;

• Нажмите кнопку Пуск и перейдите Программы>Cacewalk>Sonar X2>Sonar X2 (Producer, Studio или Essential).

The Wave Profiler

При первом запуске Sonar автоматически запустится программа the Wave Profiler. Она определяет свойства MIDI и настройки звука для Ваших аудио устройств. При этом The Wave Profiler не должен изменять настройки звуковой карты. Wave Profiler определяет марку и модель Вашего звукового устройства и настройки MIDI.

Когда Wave Profiler определит вид Вашей звуковой карты, настройки будут приняты по умолчанию. Если Вы установите новое аудио устройство или драйвер, Вы можете снова запустить Wave Profiler, выбрав Edit > Preferences > Audio - Driver Settings (Редактировать>Установки>Аудио-Установка драйвера) в Sonar и нажав кнопку Wave Profiler ().

Настройка MIDI устройств в Sonar

После завершения работы Wave Profiler, Sonar автоматически проверит наличие входных и выходных MIDI устройств, которые уже установлены. Иногда Вам может понадобиться сообщить Sonar о том, какие устройства Вы хотите использовать или Вы можете изменить MIDI выходы и устройства, используемые Вами. Выберите Edit > Preferences > MIDI – Devices (Редактировать>Установки>MIDI-устройства) в Sonar для конфигурации Ваших MIDI устройств.

В верхней части окна Вы можете видеть MIDI входы. Убедитесь, что отмечены все устройства в данном окне. Если устройство не отмечено, нажмите на маркер рядом с ним.

В нижней части этого же окна Вы можете видеть выходы MIDI. Устройства вверху списка – это выход 1, ниже – выход 2 и так далее. Выберите только одно устройство в окне выхода. Нажмите Move Selected Devices to Top (Переместить выбранное устройство вверх), позволяющее Вам изменить порядок Ваших MIDI устройств. Затем выделите все появившиеся в окне устройства, чтобы выбрать их для вывода.

Разрешение MIDI вывода устройствам позволит Вам сыграть MIDI треки через внешнюю клавиатуру, звуковой модуль или Вашу звуковую карту на MIDI устройстве.
