I REMEMBER MY CHILDHOOD

Last night I watched a film called “The world of children” and dreamed of it before waking this morning. The film looked like my childhood.I grew up in a very small town and I had my own world as a child, just like in the movie.

I remember when I was a child, I was very healty and I only went to hospital once. I had a great childhood with full of beautiful memories. When I was a child I used to dream I was in a bubble and floating from one cloud to another and sometimes coming down to look at the beautiful countryside. It was the most peaceful feeling. I no longer have them as an adult. I used to believe, when I was maybe six or seven, that there were little people playing the music inside stereos or radios living in them. They would start playing the music whenever somebody turned it on and just sit around doing nothing until somebody turned on the device. I used to believe that, by moving their branches from one side to another, trees made wind. I used to believe that only people who's first name was "doctor" could be a doctor. I was heavily disappointed with my mother for not naming me doctor. I used to believe that everything in the world was black and white before the invention of color television. I used to think insects would walk along tree branches and *poof* become a leaf. I misunderstood buds for bugs. I used to believe that lighting and thunder in the sky meant God was angry.I used to like to eat candy and sweets. I used to have a straight and very long hair with a small fringe. When I was a child, I didn't use to study hard. I used to play many games outside.

The most beatiful period of my life was my childhood. What I really miss about my childhood is the fact that "magic" was there everywhere I was.

-Write about your habits that you didn’t use to do, but you do recently / you used to do but you don’t recently.

E.g:I started drinking tea recently, I never used to like it before.

(Now)

E.g: I used to spend a lot of money on clothes but I don’t recently.

(When I was 20)

I don’t travel much these days. I prefer to stay at home. But I used to travel a lot. I used to go away two or three times a year.

-Why are people healthier now than before? Compare today’s life to the past using ‘used to’

e.g: People used to eat vegetables and fruit/healty foods. Now they eat fast food.

-Talk to your partner about your childhood using ‘used to’, ‘ was, were’ (I will give to the sudents some pictures to remind their childhood- ‘Activites file practice 3-Memories of childhood’)

e.g: First picture from the page: I remember when I was a child, my favourite thing was my blanket.

e.g: Second Picture from the page: I remember when I was a child, I used to have a beatiful bicycle.

-Holiday memories (Talk to your partner about your holiday.)

Where did you go on holiday? How long did you stay there?

When was it? What places did you see? Etc.

-Talk about the happiest day of your life.

When was it? What happened on this day?

Who was there with you? Why was it your happiest day? Etc.
