1. You’re a second-year student of the Operation, Automation and Telecommunication Institute at the University. Your friend is going to enter your University this year. He/she is taking preparatory courses. He/she is interested in your Institute specialization, the curriculum, the facilities the institute is provided with, the students life and the duties of the future operational engineer.

2. Applying for a job

1) You've read two job advertisements (ads) in the Friday issue of the local newspaper.

1. The first one is about a vacancy of a Transportation Manager for TransRailVostok company. They need a creative, technologically oriented specialist, an excellent and decisive leader able to work independently and knowing PC. They have good career opportunities.

2. The second ad offers a job of a train dispatcher at Khabarovsk-2 station. They seek a highly-experienced, studious and responsible specialist. His responsibilities will involve control of trains running, their arrival and departure, shunting operations, organization of freight and passenger service. Experience of working at least for 3 years in this field and PC knowledge are necessary.

2. Students work in pairs or in groups of 4-6. 2-3 students are applicants for one of the jobs while the other 2-3 students are interviewers.
