(Noun) n.

прикметник (Adjective) аdj.

(Numeral) num.

(Pronoun) pron.

(Verb) v.

(Adverb) adv.

(Preposition) prep.

(Conjunction) conj.

(Interjection) int.

Before I start talking about my family let me introduce myself. I am Max Kovalenko. I am 16 years old. I have left school this year and now I am a 1st –year student at Zaporizhzhya Building College. I was born in Zaporizhzhya.

And now I am going to tell you about my family. We are a family of six. We think we are a large and friendly family. So we are happy to live together and are getting on all right.

To begin with, I am going to talk first about my father. His name is Sergey Petrovich, he is 45. He works as a surgeon in a hospital. He is neither old, nor young. He is a good-looking man, handsome, rather thin with dark brown hair just beginning to go grey. My father is a very sociable person. What I don’t like about my dad is that he is always busy. He often works overtime. He is a bread-maker in our family. My father often sings and when we are at home and have free time, I play the guitar and we sing together. My father knows all about new TV sets and likes to repair old ones. He is fond of going to the country on week-ends, because he enjoys working in the garden.

My mother’s name is Galina Nickolayevna. She is three years younger than my father. She works as a teacher at a nursery school. My mother is rather slim and pretty, she is always elegant and smart. In short, she is a pleasant-looking woman of about 40. She always has a lot of work to do both at school and about the house. She is fond of her work and spends a lot of time there.

My parents have much in common, but they have different views on music, books, films and sports. For example, my father likes horror films and my mother likes «soap operas». My father is fond of tennis and my mother doesn’t go in for sports. But my parents have the same opinion about my education and upbringing.

My mother keeps the house and takes care of all of us. She is very good at cooking and she is clever with her hands. She is very practical. My father and I try to help her with the housework. I wash the dishes, go shopping and tidy up our flat.

My grandmother is a pensioner. She lives with us and helps to run the house. She is fond of knitting.

My sister Helen is twenty-four. She is married and has a family of her own. She works as an accountant for a joint venture company. Her husband is a scientist. They have got twins: a daughter and a son. They go to a nursery school.

My brother Oleg is eleven. He is a schoolboy. He wants to become a doctor but he is not sure yet. Three months ago he dreamed of being a cosmonaut.

I think I take after my father. I’m tall, fair-haired and even-tempered.

I always try to be in a good mood.

We have got a lot of relatives. We are deeply attached to one another and we get on very well. I love my family very much.
