Chemistry Teacher
Task 1. Read and translate the text.
It’s not surprising I’ve chosen one of the oldest sciences founded in ancient Greece. The first theoretical chemists were Aristotle, Heraclitus, Hippocrates, Democritus, Plato and many others.
Besides I’m very proud of the fact that Russian scientists are considered to be the greatest and most advanced in the field of chemistry in the nineteenth century. The periodic law of elements discovered by the great Russian scientist Mendeleev is one of the basic laws of chemistry. Butlerov published his classical work “Introduction to Organic Chemistry” on the principle of which modern chemistry is based.
It’s clear that I fell in love with chemistry and I am sure I can share my knowledge with my pupils, using all my feelings and impressions.
Our age is often called the age of specialization because it is impossible for any single man to cover more that a very limited field. At the same time quite new sciences such as nuclear physics, bio-chemistry and others have been created as our expanding knowledge of the universe and its contents has opened new fields for exploration. Chemistry is recognized to be one of the most basic and fundamental sciences studying nature related to other natural sciences.
