Упражнение 1. Переведите на русский язык приведённые ниже слова и словосочетания:

aid (n.), continuous column, dia (diameter) (n.), edge girder, floor area, ground floor, identical (adj.), mat (n.), space frame, stagger (v.), tubular (adj.).

Какие из перечисленных слов могут быть другими частями речи? Какими именно? Как они в этом случае переводятся на русский язык?

Упражнение 2. Переведите на английский язык приведённые ниже слова и словосочетания:

балочная ферма, вестибюль, возведение, двутавровая балка, диагонально, другой, жилая застройка, квартира, комната, крепить болтами, кронштейн, круглый, направление, общий, пара, перекрёстная связь, после, пространственная стержневая конструкция, размер, ростверк из стальных балок, с расстоянием 30 см друг от друга, сборный элемент, собственный фундамент, соединяться, соответствовать по размеру, стальная свая, стена жёсткости, такой, элемент перекрытия.

Упражнение 3. Найдите в тексте термины, обозначающие элементы здания. Дайте перевод найденных терминов на русский язык.

Упражнение 1. Переведите предложения, определите, к какой части речи относятся подчеркнутые слова.
