Of all azimuthal projections in their navigation are mainly used in the central and polar stereographic .

Imagine an infinitely remote light source on the opposite side , translucent globe and cast shadows of meridians and parallels the plane card.

These projections parallels the normal grid - concentric circles , and meridians - the radii of the circles . The angles between the meridians are equal to the corresponding difference in longitude .

For polar regions used stereographic projection.

The classification of the projections on the pole position .

• direct (normal) projection - when the zenith (Z) coincides with the geographic pole (PN) or projection in which the axis of the auxiliary surface coincides with the axis of rotation of the globe, and geographic meridians and parallels create a normal grid .

• lateral projection - if the zenith (Z) is located at the geographic equator , the axis perpendicular to the supporting surface of the axis of rotation of the earth.

• oblique projection - in which the axis of the auxiliary geometric surface makes with the axis of the globe acute angle .

Classification of projections by the nature of distortion.

• Conformal (conformal) - in these projections, the angles between the directions displayed without any distortion , but there is a curvature of space.

• Equivalent (equivalent) - the projections , which are stored in a ratio of areas on the Earth's surface and in the image. These projections have the distortion angles and lengths.

• equirectangular (equidistant) - is the projection in which the particular scale , one of the main areas is ongoing and is generally one.

• Custom - this projection, for which none of the above conditions is not satisfied, that is curvature , there are at the corner, and on the area, and distance .

Analysis of attributes classification of map projections indicates that the map may not be the angles or distortion or warping space and distance , but at the same time lacking all of these types of distortions can not . The size and distribution of these distortions on a particular piece of card are the main features of the suitability of the map to the solution of a navigation or surveying tasks .

s = (l1 — l2)sin jcp,

Где: jср. — средняя широта между секущими параллелями, которые берутся за основу при построении карты для заданного района;

s = 0,

s = l1 — l2

1' = 185326м  1,853км

1" = 30,9м

The use and choice of map projections depend mainly on the purpose of the map and its scale, which is often determined by the nature of the allowable distortion in map projections elected maps of large and medium scale, designed to solve the metric tasks usually conformal projection, and small scale maps are used to general review and determine the ratio of the areas of territories - in equal size.

Determination of the angle of convergence

Knowledge of the projections is necessary for the proper determination of the angle of convergence of the meridians (s) for laying the position on the map. In defining s to calculate the great circle travel angles for Conformal Conic projection, the expression

s = (l1 — l2)sin javer,

where: javer - the average width between the intersecting parallels, which are taken as the basis for constructing the maps for a given area;

s = 0,

s = l1 — l2

CHECKLIST

1. Units of measurement scales:

2. length of arc on the equator in the 1 ° = 111,196 km  111,2 km

1 = 185326m  1,853 km

1 "= 30.9 m

3. Given track angle (GTA) is the angle made between the northern direction of the meridian taken as the reference point and the line of the given path. It is measured from the prime meridian northerly direction to the direction of the intended track in a clockwise direction from 0 to 360.

4. Loxodromic Line on the surface of the globe, crossing the meridian at a constant angle.

5. Loxodromic track angle (ZIPU) for each leg is measured directly on the map protractor regarding the central meridian of the site

6. Orthodrome is called the arc of a great circle is the line of intersection of the surface of the sphere (approximating the Earth's surface) plane passing through its center. which is the shortest distance between two points on the surface of the globe. Orthodromy crosses the meridian at different angles.
