1. If your stomach is upset while taking aspirin, try taking it a half-hour after meals, when the food in the stomach serves as a buffer. Coated aspirin will almost totally protect the stomach. However, some people do not digest the coated aspirin and so receive no benefit. Buffering is sometimes

added to aspirin to protect the stomach and nonabsorbable antacid are much easier on the system than absorbable antacid.
Aspirin comes in combination with many other medicines, most frequently caffeine and phenacetin. Some scientists think these agents increase the painkilling effects, others dispute it.
Aspirin is the drug of first choise for minor pains and fever for many people.
Asthma, nasal polyps, deafness, serious bleeding from the digestive tract, ulcers, and other major problems have been associated with aspirin. However, such problems are rare and almost always disappear after the medication is discontinued.
Research has revealed that the world's most popular headache remedy helps to prevent a second stroke or heart attack. Strokes often occur because the blood flow to the brain is obstructed by a clot, with devastating results. Aspirin has the effect of thinning the blood, making clotting less likely.
In 1988, Dr. Charles Hennekens, a professor at Harvard Medical School published a landmark government- financed study showing that a group of men who took an aspirin every other day had a 44 percent lower heart attack rate than men who didn't.
Notes:

(ground)
to) инсульту,
