Употребление

Past Simple употребляется для выражения действия, которое происходило в прошлом в определенное время.

Время совершения действия ясно из контекста или ситуации или указывается соответствующими обстоятельственными словами и выражениями, обозначающими прошедшее время, такими как:

yesterday — вчера

the day before yesterday — позавчера

last year — в прошлом году

ago — (какое-то время) назад

the other day, и т.д. — на днях (о прошлом)

THE FUTURE SIMPLE TENSE

(Будущее простое время)

Образование

Для образования Future Simple используется вспомогатель­ный глагол shall/will и первая форма основного глагола.

□ I shall come to London in March. — Я приеду в Лондон в марте.

He will play tennis tomorrow. --- Он будет играть в теннис завтра.

В вопросительной форме shall/will ставится перед подлежащим.

В отрицательной форме not ставится после shall/will.

Употребление

The Future Simple Tense употребляется для выражения действия, которое произойдет в будущем. Это время может выражать как однократное, так и повторяющееся в будущем действие:

□ I'll go to the country on Sunday. — Я поеду за город в воскресенье.

□ They will have English lessons once a week. — У них будут уроки английского языка раз в неделю.

Обычно будущее время употребляется с такими обозначениями времени, как tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, tonight, next year, in (some) days, one of these days, some day, soon, и т.д.

Text Mining Education in Great Britain (4часа)

In Great Britain the students get mining education at special colleges and mining departments of universities. The Mining Department at the University of Nottingham is one of the best mining schools in Great Britain. The students come to the University from all parts of the country and from abroad. Nottingham is situated in close proximity to mines extracting coal and different metals.

The aim of training at the University is to give an understanding of applied science based on lectures, tutorial system, laboratory work and design classes. The laboratory work trains the student in accurate recording of observations, drawing of logical conclusions and presentation of scientific reports.

At Nottingham there are two types of laboratories, general and specialized. General laboratories deal with the fundamentals of engineering science and specialized ones study the more specialized problems. Practical work both in the field and in drawing classes forms an important part of this course. The students have practical work in survey camps during two weeks. The equipment for traversing, levelling, tacheometric and astronomical surveing is of the latest design.

British educatioal system is fee-paying. The annual fee includes registration, tuition, examination, graduation and for full-time students membership of the Union of Students.

Students from all over the world study at the University of Nottingham. The University pays much attention to learning foreign languages. For individual study there is a 16-place self-access tape library with a tape archive of 3,000 tapes in 30 languages.

Text Mining Education in Great Britain (Part 2)

At present there are a number of universities and colleges which give instruction in mechanical engineering, mining, metallurgy, etc. These institutions provide full-time and part-time education. Technical colleges confer diplomas on college graduates.

A university graduate leaves with the degree of Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, which is an academic qualification awarded by universities.

The University in Cardiff is one of the largest in Wales. There is the Mining Engineering Department in the University of Wales. The Department deals with the range of extracting industries.

After the graduating from the college a student can be recommended for entry to the university by a college authority and he can apply for admission to the university.

At the Mining Department students have several courses such as geology, mining engineering, mine surveying, management studies and others. The courses are based on an intensive tutorial system. It means that students are alotted to members of the teaching staff for individual tuition separately in subjects.

At the Department of Mining Engineering of the Newcastle University mining has become a technically advanced profession. The courses in rock mechanics and surface excavation are of great importance for mining engineers.

At the University a student studies for 3 or 4 years. The organization of the academic year is based on a three-term system from the beginning of October to the middle of December, from the middle of January to the end of March and from the middle of April to the end of June or the beginning of July.

Admission to the British universities is by examination and selection. The minimum age for admission is 18 years. Departments interview all the candidates. The aim of the interview is to select better candidates. Half of the university students live in colleges, halls of residence, another third lives in privately rented accommodation and the rest live at home.
