Mike and Nick are students at the Kyiv Technological University. They take studies at the department of the computer sciences. Mike and Nick are not from Kyiv. Mike's family lives in Berdychiv and Nick's family lives far in the south. Both of them are in a large city like Kyiv for the first time. This is what they say about Kyiv and the places they are from. Mike says: "My family lives in a little town – Berdychiv. My town is certainly not as large as Kyiv is. We haven't got as many big buildings and blocks of flats as you have in Kyiv. We have got only some of them — the buildings of the hospitals, schools, shops and some offices. My native town is certainly nice and I love it. Sometimes I miss (сумую) my family and my town badly, but I must say, I like large cities with plenty of big buildings, busy streets, plenty of cars in them and much noise (шум). I don't like little places."

Nick says: "My family doesn't live in a city nor even in a town. They live far away from Kyiv in a little village in the south. My family is large. They work on the local farm. We live in houses in the village. We haven't got big blocks.

I love my village with its little houses, rosy gardens (сади) and much sun in the sky. I don't like large cities. Modern big buildings and blocks of flats look like boxes. I don't like busy streets with plenty of cars and much noise."
