The sample of language proficiency assessment on the 5th level ‘Advanced’
For example, the learner K. chose the 5th level and answered 14 test tasks correctly on theoretical block of CBT correctly. He got C+, which corresponds to the assessment of his theoretical knowledge (table № 1).
The learner also passes the 5th (Advanced) level on the practical block (table № 2).
It took him 7 minutes for listening: According to the 1st task the learner listened to the text ‘The family of Carlos IV’, answered 4 test tasks correctly and got 20 % from maximum 20 % because he answered all test tasks correctly. According to the 2nd task the leaner retold the main idea of the text in compliance with logical sequence, but during the retelling he made some speech mistakes, that is why he got 18 % from maximum 20 %.
For listening practice the examinee got 39 % from maximum 40 %.
It took him 10 minutes for speaking: According to the 1-st task the learner kept the discussion on varieties of activities people can do in order to relax, was able to prove his point of view and got 12 % from maximum 12 %. According to the 2nd task the learner made connected monologue about his/her favorite film and got 18 % from maximum 18 %. Total: 30 %
For speaking practice the examinee got 30 % from maximum 30 %.
It took him 9 minutes for reading: According to the 1st task the learner read the text "What these kids need is discipline" fluently with observance of all orthoepical rules and made a plan to the text and got 10 % from maximum 10% - 5 % for reading and 5 % for making a plan. According to the 2nd task the learner translated the highlighted paragraph – 10% . Total: 20 %.
For reading practice the examinee got 20% from maximum 20%.
It took him 14 minutes for writing. According to the writing task the learner wrote an essay consisting of 100 words without any grammar and stylistic mistakes in his essay and got 10%. Total: 10 %
For writing practice the examinee got 10 % from maximum 10 %.
Thus, for the fulfillment of practical block the learner got 99 % and his final assessment mark on English at this level corresponds to 99 %.
Each level of linguistic complex in Part I of theoretical block as an example (and for self testing) has 20 questions (each 6th) from theoretical (120 CBT); practical block has one exam card from 30.
