Цели и задачи урока:

1 .Практиковать учащихся в чтении и обсуждении прочитанного.

2. Ввести новый лексический материал и отработать его употребление.

3. Проконтролировать навыки монологической речи.

Лексический материал: to be over, suddenly, mirror, messenger, message, to give up, before, the tunnels attracts you like a magnet.

Ход урока

1. Приветствие и организационный момент начала урока:

Т: Good morning, children! I'm glad to see you again. Who is on duty today? Who is away today? Who is late today? What date is today? What day is it today? Are you ready for the lesson? How are you, Pi? Are you fine, P₂? Are you OK, P₃?

2. Речевая зарядка.

Т: Last evening I spoke with my friend about Stonehenge. She is interested in these legends too. She told me about her own theory. Listen to it, please. Dp you agree with her? Use the word because to explain your ideas. Stonehenge is older than pyramids in Egypt. It is more than five thousand years old. But the builders of Stonehenge knew mathematics, astronomy and physics. So people could use these huge stones as a compass. Stonehenge has a link with midsummer sunrise and midwinter sunset. There are some ancient graves in this place. People can guess the mystery of Stonehenge if they guess who could build it.

3. Контроль домашнего задания.

1. Т: Do you have your own theories about Stonehenge? Tell about them, please. Pupils, ask questions to discuss them. (2—3 учащихся рассказывают о своих теориях и отвечают на вопросы других учеников).

2. Т: Can you remember why Robin, Misha and Rosey came to Stonehenge? Whom did Robin tell his story? Did Mark believe the legend about Robin?
